Coach Mel Tucker planned for “roughly 12 practices” in preparation for No. 10 Michigan State football to face No. 12 Pitt in the Peach Bowl on Thursday in Atlanta.
Not all of that time was expected to be spent on scheming and studying. Tucker set some aside to see which younger Spartans might be ready to break out going into the offseason.
