Sialkot lynching case: the court remand another 18 people for 15 days

Gujranwala: A judge in Gujranwala’s Anti-Terrorism Tribunal (ATC) on Monday approved the remand of 18 other defendants in the murder of Sri Lankan citizen Priyantha Kumara15 sky.

The police showed the defendant in front of ATC judge Natasha Naseem and demanded that the defendant be physically remanded. Appearances in court: Said, Sajid, Qasim, Mahmoud, Sheraz, Jawad, Ali Haider, Asgar, Gulamgus, Zahid Ali, Hussein , Faisal, Zaigem, Abu Bakar, Harun, Zain Ali, Ahmed and Abu Talha.

The police took the defendant away under strict security. The judge ordered the police to show the defendant to the court on December 28 for further proceedings. The 34 defendants have been remanded by the police awaiting trial.

On Saturday, the Punjab government decided to try all suspects in the prison and asked its administration to make necessary arrangements for this. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bouzdar noticed the incident and ordered the police authorities to conduct a transparent investigation and bring the accused to justice. Priyantha Kumara, who was employed as an export manager at a factory in Sialkot, was killed by a group of thugs for tearing up religiously emotional posters on the factory wall. His body was later dragged on the road by the mob and set on fire by the mob, which was condemned globally.
